NEW BUSINESS

1. Retirement Acceptance of Lieutenant Brett Clark (Jeff Snyder, Fire Chief)

Explanation: Lieutenant Brett Clark submitted his intent to retire effective July 2, 2022 after 23 years of service to the City of Moline.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommend acceptance of the retirement of Lieutenant Brett Clark effective July 2, 2022 as presented.

2. Promotional Appointment of Eric Becker to the rank of Lieutenant (Jeff Snyder, Fire Chief)

Explanation: Due to the retirement of Lieutenant Brett Clark, there is a Lieutenant promotional vacancy. Fire Engineer Eric Becker is the next qualified candidate on the certified Fire Lieutenant Eligibility Register.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommend the promotional appointment of Eric Becker to the rank of Lieutenant effective July 2, 2022.

3. Authorization to Fill Firefighter/Paramedic Vacancy

Explanation: Due to the retirement of Lieutenant Brett Clark and the subsequent promotion of Lieutenant Eric Becker, there is a vacancy in the rank of Firefighter/Paramedic.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommend approval to fill the vacancy created at a date to be determined.

4. Police Eligibility Register Removal (Darren Gault, Police Chief)

Explanation: Katherine Noyd is the number two candidate on the current Police Officer Eligibility Register. Ms. Noyd asked to be passed over twice due to her full-time college status, when offered employment on May 26, 2022 she declined due to her pursuit of another position.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommend the removal of Katherine Noyd from the current Police Officer Eligibility Register.

5. Completion of Six-Month Sergeant Promotional Probationary Period

Explanation: Sergeant Daniel Beaudry was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on December 15, 2021. Sergeant Beaudry will successfully complete his six-month promotional probationary period effective June 15, 2022.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommend the approval of regular, full-time promotional appointment of Sergeant Daniel Beaudry effective June 15, 2022.

6. Completion of Police Officer Probationary Appointment (Darren Gault, Police Chief)

Explanation: Officers Scott Meyer, Travis Leedom and Logan Frederick were hired on January 18, 2021. These officers have successfully completed their 18-month probationary period.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommend the approval of regular, full-time appointment of Officer Scott Meyer, Officer Travis Leedom and Officer Logan Frederick.

Any person with disabilities who wishes to attend the meeting who requires a special accommodation, or any other person requiring a special accommodation in attending the meeting, should notify the Moline Police Department, 309-524-2230, at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled meeting time.

7. Police Officer Resignation (Darren Gault, Police Chief)

Explanation: Probationary Officer Brett Hesselberg was hired on May 3, 2021 and submitted notice of resignation on June 9, 2022 effective June 20, 2022 to pursue a different career path.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommend the acceptance of the resignation of Brett Hesselberg effective June 20, 2022 as presented.

8. Authorization to Fill Police Officer Vacancy

Explanation: Due to the resignation of Officer Brett Hesselberg there is a vacancy in the rank of Police Officer.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommend approval to fill the vacancy created at a date to be determined.
