City of Rock Island Beautification Commission met July 11.

Call to Order and Roll Call

Chair David VanLandegen called the meeting to order at 5:45 PM and read the roll call.

Public Comment

None

Approval of the Agenda

Todd Linscott moved to approve the agenda for July 11, 2022. Emily Smith seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously on a vote of 6 to 0.

Approval of the Previous Meeting Minutes

Laurie Figley moved to approve the minutes for June 20, 2022. Todd Linscott seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously on a vote of 6 to 0.

New Business

Slideshow and review of July 2022 Yard of the Month

Emily Smith moved to approve 1823 30th Street as the winner of the July Yard of the Month. Laurie Figley seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously on a vote of 6 to 0.

Addition of an October meeting to the 2022 schedule at which the commission will vote on and award certificates for best residential Fall seasonal displays.

Roy Plasschaert moved to approve adding an October 10th meeting to the 2022 meeting schedule at which the commission will vote on best residential seasonal displays. Laurie Figley seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously on a vote of 6 to 0.

Discussion and vote on giving all Yard of the Month nominees certificates of appreciation Emily Smith moved to give all Yard of the Month nominees certificates of appreciation. Roy Plasschaert seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously on a vote of 6 to 0.

Chair David VanLandegen asked for a motion to adjourn. Laurie Figley moved to adjourn. Roy Plasschaert seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously on a vote of 6 to 0. The meeting was adjourned at 6:00 PM.
