ROCKFORD, IL – U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman joined Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) in Rockford to meet with local entrepreneurs and highlight their work to support small businesses.

“I want to thank Administrator Guzman for coming to visit Rockford to check out some of the amazing small business that power our local economy in Northern Illinois,” said Sorensen. “It was an honor to visit some of these small businesses and discuss ways we can make our communities a better place to grow and start a small business. I look forward to working with her to help create more jobs and build a future that is sustainable for generations to come.”

"Small businesses power America's Main Streets, and that's why the SBA and the Biden-Harris Administration are committed to making it easier for all entrepreneurs to access the resources and capital they need to start and grow," said Administrator Guzman. “It was an honor to join Congressman Sorenson in visiting so many resilient small businesses across Rockford to hear their stories and goals for the future so that the SBA can continue to support them as President Biden Invests in America and creates opportunities for all."

Congressman Sorensen and Administrator Guzman hosted local entrepreneurs for an “Investing in America” roundtable, followed by a tour of six locally-owned small businesses to learn more about their operations and hear their needs.

Congressman Sorensen and Administrator Guzman began their tour at Rockford Art Deli and Classic Cuts Barbershop before heading to Ambiance Cuisine Cocktails and Catering for lunch. In the afternoon, Sorensen and Guzman stopped by La Michoacana Denisse, Mama Lisa’s Groceries, and TNT Funnel Cake.
