City of Colona City Council met Oct. 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Call to Order: 6 P.M.

Roll Call:

Mayor Ropp. Atty. Wright, Aldermen Dooley, Stablein, Swemline, Lack, Jones, Painter, and Shady-Dahl. Clerk Jones, PWD Mike Stephens, Staff, 7 aldermen, 1 absent, Treasurer and Chief Absent.

Pledge:

Public Comments: none

Mayor's Report:

Talked to Kathy Orr a few times, got the application sent to her for Glazed Donuts. Talked to TJMJ about the Church Demo, Sent bids out for Car Wash, completion of demo. Making calls, etc.

Clerk's Report: none Consent Agenda:

1. Approve payment of Bills /Vender Report for the period 9-11 thru 9-26-23

2. Approve payroll for the period of 9-12 thru 9-26th, 23

3. Approve minutes for 9-11-23 City Council meeting with the (8 for the vote) Motion made by Alderman Shady-Dahl to approve items 1,2,,and 3, seconded by Alderman Swemline

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Shady-Dahl, Painter, Jones, Lack, Swemline, Stablein, voted yes, Alderman Goodrum absent, 7 yes 1 absent motion passed.

Committee Reports: no meetings that I know of as of Friday

Old Business: none

New Business:

1. More information on The Girl Scout Scouts dance, it is a reward for them.

Council should let them know in a timely manner. Yes or no so they can look for another place before they get booked up. After discussion, no vote.

2. Approve the redevelopment Agreement by and between the City of Colona, Henry County, Illinois and TJMJ Investments, LLC (TIF IV) Alderman Stablein had went to speak with TJMJ and asked questions and got answers and was impressed with their plans. Motion was made by Alderman Jones to approve the agreement seconded by Alderman Swemline.

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Jones, Lack, Swemline, Stablein, Dooley, and Shady-Dahl, Voted yes Aldermen Painter voted No Goodrum absent Mayor Ropp also voted yes 7 yes 1 no, 1 absent motion passed.

3. Discuss TIF III Application for 713-1st street, the Car Wash lot. Pictures were provided for Council of what was wanted on the lot and it was discussed at the meeting and at the Economic Development Meeting.

4. No one came forward about the Euchre Tournament as of Oct. 2nd, if anyone knows about the Center for Youth Solutions please tell them to contact us. I would like the council to make a timely decision of yes or no to let them be able to make their plans. Girl Scout's and Center for youth Solutions both.
