City of Moline Keep Moline Beautiful Commission met Dec. 14.

Call to Order
Rodd Schick called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. in the Public Works Conference Room. Roll Call
Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes
Mary Lind made a motion to approve the June KMB minutes. Pam Nelson seconded the motion and it was unanimously approved.
Old Business
KMB Planning
Laura Chumbley has been set up as an administrator on the KMB FaceBook account and an employee from the City’s IT Dept will be set up as well.
Website pages are getting updated and everything will be moved on to David Rowatt at City’s IT Dept. Need a list of the KMB Super Hero recipients and any photos that anyone wants to share.
Committee Reports
1. Blue Can Group – not sure if this committee is still necessary, perhaps rename with plastics free initiative?
2. QC Earth Coalition – no longer meeting, this can be removed.
3. X-Stream Cleanup – meeting four times each year, Kathy Morris just retired. She was the manager of the Scott County Recycling Center and is responsible for all of the innovative upgrades and services they provide.
4. Garden Guardians – time for rest.
5. School Outreach – no report.
6. Downtown Events – two winter concerts will be held at Stoney Creek, Vibrant Arena is filling up their events calendar, Holiday Hop and Lighting on the Commons went well.
7. City Update – leaf vacuuming service ends tomorrow (Friday 12/15/23) and free yard waste bag collection ends next Friday (12/22/23). The City has a new Public Works Director scheduled to start on Tuesday January 2nd, 2024.

New Business
The QC Environmental Film Festival Schedule has been released. Season passes are $25 each or each film is $6 for admission.
The Audubon Society and the Sierra Club are working on a project to install and maintain purple martin houses. Ben Butterworth Parkway was a location they would like considered. Rodd will check with the Park Board.
At the Riverways Meeting, Kirk did a very nice presentation and the video is on Renew’s website.
