City of Moline Keep Moline Beautiful Commission met July 11.

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

PRESENT: Kristen Bergren

STAFF: Andy Parer, Bill Deadmond

Call to Order

Andy Parer called the meeting to order at 4:03 p.m. in the Utilities Conference Room.

Roll Call

Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes

Mary Lind made a motion to approve the 6/13/2024 KMB minutes. Bill Deadmond seconded the motion and it was unanimously approved.

Old Business

Bill will follow up on a request for adopting a Garden Guardians lot and Emily’s flyers being displayed in a case along a park

Kirk will follow up with the I-74 signage request from Pam

Committee Reports

1. Blue Can Group – No updates

2. X-Stream Cleanup – There are free gloves to anyone who signs up, and all the data of trash collected goes to Scott County. We should register the KMB group for this mailing list and events

3. Garden Guardians – There will be a need for mulch after the flood goes down, and an assessment of plants.

4. School Outreach – No updates

5. Downtown Events - List and updates provided by Kirk.

6. City Update – Sullivan Island has a new pavilion thanks to the Friends of Off-Road Cycling (FORC). This fall tree stumps will get removed from the coffins along streets in Moline.

Event List

1. Touch a Truck – August 10th at WIU from 9-11

2. America Recycles Day – Friday November 15th, 2024

New Business

- WIU will be hosting the Sierra Club Water Sentinels group on 9/8

On the motion of Mary Lind, seconded by Bill Deadmond and unanimously approved, the meeting was adjourned at 4:33 p.m.
