State Representative Daniel Swanson (IL) | Representative Dan Swanson (R) 71st District
State Representative Dan Swanson, a Republican from Alpha, was sworn in on Wednesday to serve the 71st District for another two-year term. Swanson expressed his commitment to his constituents, stating, "It is a great honor to represent the people of western Illinois in the House, and I am looking forward to getting to work in the Capitol."
For the inaugural ceremony, Swanson was accompanied by students from Carl Sandburg College, Monmouth College, and Spoon River College.
Swanson has been a member of the Illinois House since 2017. His focus for the upcoming 104th General Assembly includes promoting fiscal responsibility and enhancing services for veterans and farmers. He also aims to improve the state's response to diseases such as Lyme disease and support initiatives that advance childhood literacy.
