Rock Island County Public Works and Facilities Committee met Jan. 13.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Chairman Larry Burns called the Public Works and Facilities meeting to order at 8:32am

Members in Attendance: Larry Burns, Dave Adams, Richard Morthland, Tim Foster, Bob Westpfahl, Chuck Layer

Also Present: Richard Brunk, Matt Miller, Josh Boudi, April Palmer, Nick Camlin, Greg Thorpe, Jim Grafton, Jared VanTieghem, Jim Nelson.

3. Approval of December 9th Public Works & Facilities Minutes:

with amendment to date of minutes (from October 9th to November 12th)

4. Reports to Committee:

Greg Thorpe gave a report from Zoning & Building on revenues, value of $6.1 M and 1 zoning case along with new permit program.

Motion to approve: D. Adams Second: R. Morthland

Josh Boudi gave a report on SmartGov permitting software requires a GIS datalink GIS revenues and the new fee increase takes effect February 1st. The fee increase will allow for the buildup of the GIS fund.

County Engineer Matt Miller gave a Highway Department Report and noted that it has been a slow winter, they have received a cutting head back from repair and they are starting materials approval for the locker room remodel.

County Administrator Jim Grafton gave a report staffing & Inventory at the Fleet Management. Mr. Grafton said it looks like it could require 5 employees and should not be in operation by next month. Mr. Grafton also explained that ESTES has inspected the countertops in the Chambers and are going to replace them.

County Treasurer Nick Camlin gave a report on the remodel in the Treasurer’s Office Treasurer Camlin also noted that the interest earned in the last month of the year was very good.

Bob Westpfahl asked County Engineer if everyone is back to work. County Engineer Miller answered that all except one and he is expected back in 2 months.
