Representative Dan Swanson recently took on the role of chairman for the House Veterans Affairs Committee. "It was the first time a Republican has been the chairman of an Illinois House committee in 12 years," he stated. A bill co-sponsored by Swanson proposes raising the age requirement for seniors taking driving tests from 79 to 87. This legislation recently passed unanimously in the House Transportation Vehicles and Safety Committee and is now before the full House.
