Milan passes 2015 tax levy

Propertytax

The Village of Milan, Illinois board of trustees unanimously approved the village's 2015 tax levy during a recent meeting.

The trustees said the levy will command $8,000 more than its 2014 version, based on an increase in assessed value for the village.

The board also approved a pay increase to $15 per hour for Clerk's Office assistant Ginny Zimmerman. Zimmerman began as a temporary, occasional employee but has since taken on regular part-time duties. Trustees said the $15 per hour wage is standard for staff in Zimmerman's position in the same office.

Mayor Duane Dawson was absent. Trustee Harry Stuart temporarily filled his role for the meeting.
