The Moline Historic Preservation Advisory Commission met Dec. 14 to review updates on nearly 20 historic properties in the Moline area.
The commission noted that the Scottish Rite Cathedral and Wilson House are for sale, and that renovations are pending or underway at the Prospect Park Pavilion, the Industrial Home Building, the Sears Warehouse, the Collector Center, the John Deere House and the Garfield School.
Commissioners said the Sylvan Island Bridge is on schedule for replacement next year.
The commissioners also discussed the preliminary steps needed to explore a survey of historical and architecturally significant buildings in Moline, based on a similar survey underway in Rock Island.
Finally, the commissioners reviewed ways to promote the city's new online tour of 30 historic downtown sites. The tour includes photos and text; it is available at www.molinecentre.org.
Commissioner Craig Mack was absent.
