The city of Rock Island will close some lanes of traffic on 14th Avenue between 25th and 30th streets today to prepare for concrete patching work.
The job will begin with saw cutting. The city expects the full project to be finished sometime in June.
In the meantime, city officials ask that commuters follow the directions of flaggers working in the area. Drivers are also warned to expect delays near the construction area. Parking also will be prohibited in or near the construction zone.
