T.J. Krone has earned the endorsement of the South Rock Island Township Republicans, which posted its support on its Facebook page recently.
"VOTE for TJ Krone to serve as Trustee: Born and raised in Rock Island, TJ is running for South Rock Island Township Trustee to give back to the community that has been such an important part of his life," it said. "TJ earned an Associate of Arts Degree from Black Hawk College in Moline and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana."
The post touted Krone's experience and loyalty.
"With over 30 years in the product building industry, TJ is currently employed at Airways, Inc. in Rock Island," it said. "TJ’s roots run deep in this community and he will be a great asset to the South Rock Island Township team!"
Township Republican candidates are running as a team in hopes of sweeping the trustee seats. They include Krone, incumbent Dr. Kim Shuda, Christine Elsberg and Gary Snyder. They face four Democratic contenders.
Republican candidates Dr. Rodney Simmer and Nichole Finnie are also running for township supervisor and assessor, respectively. Simmer will face a Democratic candidate, while Finnie is running unopposed.
