The South Rock Island Township Republicans threw their support behind Christine Elsberg in a Facebook post recently. The candidate for township trustee is running in a team effort with other GOP candidates.
The GOP organization posted, "VOTE for Christine Elsberg to serve as Trustee: Christine has operated her State Farm Insurance business in South Rock Island Township for 30 years. She has been active in her community and has a strong desire to make Rock Island a better place to live and work!"
In its endorsement, the GOP pointed to Elsberg's service to the community. Her experience ranges from the PTA and other school organizations to the Rock Island County Board of Appeals.
"Serving on Parent Teacher Associations in the Rock Island School District, as well as Junior Achievement, Rock Island Boosters, Rock Island First Day Fund and other school committees, Christine understands the importance of getting involved to make a difference," the Facebook post continued. "She has also been a member of Neighborhood Partners, Rock Island County Board of Appeals and President of Kiwanis Club of Rock Island. Christine is currently the treasurer of the University of Illinois Rock Island County Extension and 4-H Foundation. With her vast array of experience, Chris will be a valuable asset as Trustee on the South Rock Island Township Board."
