City of Moline Traffic Engineering Committee will meet July 11.

Here is the agenda provided by the Committee:

1. Approval of minutes of the Traffic Engineering Committee meeting of June 6, 2017.

2. Request to lower the speed limit from 30mph to 20mph on 51st and 52nd Street between 44th and 47th Avenue.

3. Request to extend persons with disabilities parking space at 403 43rd Street.

4. Request to install two persons with disabilities parking spaces at 1727 18th Avenue.

5. Request for two-hour parking restrictions in front of Top Ten Nails and Hair Salon at 826 18th Avenue.

6. Other.

1. Approval of minutes of the Traffic Engineering Committee meeting of June 6, 2017.

2. Request to lower the speed limit from 30mph to 20mph on 51st and 52nd Street between 44th and 47th Avenue.

Explanation: Residents are requesting that the speed limit be reduced from 30mph to 20mph on 51st and 52nd Street between 44th and 47th Avenue. Residents feel that the speed limit is unsafe for the amount of children in the area. Residents also stated that the Streets should be consistent with the speed limit on the Avenues as both 44th and 47th Avenues are 20mph.

3. Request to extend persons with disabilities parking space at 403 43rd Street.

Explanation: Resident is requesting that the persons with disability parking space located in front of 403 43rd Street be extended further south. Resident has a bus service that picks him up three times a week. The ramp to the bus is located on the rear and when vehicles are parked directly in front of the persons with disability parking space the bus is not able to pull forward far enough to meet the sidewalk.

4. Request to install two persons with disabilities parking spaces at 1727 18th Avenue.

Explanation: Resident is requesting two persons with disabilities parking spaces at 1727 18th Avenue. Resident stated that they have twelve stairs leading up to their house and they’ve been having to park on 18th Avenue. Both occupants have medical issues.

5. Request for two-hour parking restrictions in front of Top Ten Nails and Hair Salon at 826 18th Avenue.

Explanation: Resident is requesting two-hour parking restrictions in front of her business at 826 18th Avenue. Resident stated that they consistently have issues with the apartment complex across the street and many tenants are parking their vehicles in front of her business and leaving them there for days. Resident has reported this issue to the Police Department and Neighborhood Officer on several occasions but would like to resolve the ongoing problem.
