State Rep. Tony McCombie (R-Savanna) is saluting Gov. Bruce Rauner’s recent decision to pass legislation slashing Illinois’ limited liability companies' (LLC) fees by more than 300 percent as a way of potentially attracting more businesses to the cash-strapped state.
Earlier this month, Rauner signed legislation dropping new LLC registration fees from $500 to $150.
“As an owner of a small business that operates in both Illinois and Iowa, I experience firsthand the challenges small businesses face in Illinois compared to our neighbors,” McCombie posted on Facebook. “Slashing the LLC filing fees is a significant first step to attracting and growing new small businesses to grow our economy. Illinois must continue to make pro-growth reforms when the legislature returns for Spring Session.”
At the time of the bill signing, Rauner also touted it as a clear message to small business owners and entrepreneurs that Illinois is the best place for them to launch or expand their businesses.
McCombie’s 71st District spans Carroll, Henry, Rock Island and Whiteside counties.
