Analysis: Geneseo pays $3.46 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Geneseo Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 70.5 percent of the $382,281 the Geneseo Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.46 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Rock Island Today analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Geneseo contributed $269,577 to the fund, which saw a $82,274 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $77,718, or 20.3 percent, in 2016. Another $34,986 came from other unspecified sources.
