WESTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY RIVERFRONT CAMPUS: WIU Broadcasting Students Recognized by NATAS


Western Illinois University Riverfront Campus recently issued the following announcement.

Western Illinois University broadcasting students have been recognized by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Mid-America Chapter.

A student winner will receive a Crystal Pillar award at the 42nd Mid-America Emmy gala in Kansas City (MO) Sept. 22. Justin Fitzpatrick, a junior broadcasting major, from O'Fallon, MO, won for the best Short Form – Non-Fiction entry, "More Than a Number: Sam Pryor's Story."

WIU senior broadcasting major John Benedeck, of McHenry, IL, was awarded an honorable mention award in the Long Form – Non-Fiction category for "Hidden Pearl: The WIU Scuba Project."
