Western Illinois University Riverfront Campus recently issued the following announcement.
Western Illinois University's School of Agriculture's 2018 Agronomy Field Day, Thursday, June 28, at the Agricultural Field Laboratory, will feature information on weed management.
The program begins at noon with a complimentary lunch at the WIU Livestock Center, located at 2265 Wigwam Hollow Rd.
The keynote speaker at lunch will be William Patzoldt of Blue River Technology. He will discuss his company's technology, "See and Spray," including presenting information about how the artificial intelligence on the company's sprayer learns to identify and spot spray weeds while driving through the field.
Following Patzoldt's address, there will be a tour and discussion of lessons learned in WIU's weed management plots with WIU Associate Professor of Agronomy Mark Bernards.
The 2018 Agronomy Field Day is open free to the public.
