WHBF-TV recently issued the following announcement.
A man was extradited Friday from Illinois to Iowa and charged with murder and conspiracy in connection to a 2017 shooting death.
Derrick Parker, 44, was extradited to Burlington, where he was served with two Des Moines County warrants charging him with first degree murder and conspiracy to commit a forcible felony (murder). The warrants stem from the September 10, 2017 shooting death of Demarcus Antonio Chew.
The investigation into the death of Chew is still ongoing by the Burlington Police Department and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
Parker is being held on a $2 million bond pending a court appearance.
