Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Center recently issued the following announcement.

On exhibit from August 23rd through October 11th, 2019, will be paintings and floor pieces by Jessica Bingham of Peoria, IL, and mixed media works by Lisa Mahar of Rock Island, IL.

Jessica Bingham presents “Across from the Blue House.” Bingham uses acrylic paint, ink and graphite on unstretched, raw and misshapen canvas to express her feelings about love, loss, childhood memories and cemeteries. She also creates some sculptural pieces that relate to funerary objects like wreaths and burial plots.

Whether painting on canvas, furniture or assembling collages, Lisa Mahar uses bright colors to tell stories with her art. She uses symbology and words in her art to send messages of empowerment to women. Uplifting, spiritual and happy are other adjectives that best describe her work.

Both artists create deeply personal work that reflect experiences everyone can relate to.

The public is invited to meet the artists and enjoy complimentary food and beverages from 7-9pm on August 23rd at Quad City Arts in Rock Island.
