Rep. Tony McCombie (R-Savanna) encouraged her constituents to join her over breakfast in DeKalb County this Friday.

“Calling my DeKalb County Friends!! Join me and meet your local DeKalb County officials!,” McCombie posted on her Facebook invitation. “Cannot make it, but want to support your local Republican Party ... send a donation and share on your FB page! #letsGO #getengaged”

The breakfast event will begin at 7:30 a.m., with the DeKalb County Republican Central Committee, Circuit Clerk Loris Grubbs, Coroner Dennis Miller, candidate for County Clerk Tasha Simms, and Treasurer Becky Springer, attending in addition to McCombie. The event will be held at Hopkins Park Community Center, 1403 Sycamore Road, in DeKalb, and tickets are $35 per person. There are also opportunities for sponsorship.

McCombie recently spoke out on allegations of wrongdoing against Sen. Emil Jones III (D-Chicago).

"Here we go again!” she posted, as reported by Rock Island Today. “Nothing worse than using your position for personal gain and destroying the trust of the people you serve! #whosenext #ethicsreform #reimagineillinois"

McCombie included a screenshot from a Chicago Sun-Times article detailing the charges against Jones. The charges come three years after he "allegedly lied to the FBI about whether he’d agreed to protect the politically connected red-light camera company SafeSpeed LLC in the Illinois General Assembly.”

McCombine was elected to represent the 71st District in 2016. She is a lifelong resident of Savanna, and she earned a Bachelor of Arts from Western Illinois University. She owns and operates Blue Appraisals and is a real estate broker with MelFoster Co. Her previous political experience includes time as the mayor of Savanna and as a member of the Savanna City Council.
