UnityPoint Health has opened a new retail pharmacy in east Des Moines, aiming to improve access to prescription services for local residents and visitors. The facility, named UnityPoint Health Pharmacy – Eyerly Ball, is located at 1319 Pennsylvania Avenue within the Eyerly Ball building, directly across from Iowa Lutheran Hospital.
The pharmacy is open to all members of the public. No prior relationship with UnityPoint Health or Eyerly Ball is required to use its services. This location offers an option for those visiting nearby medical facilities or living in the area to conveniently fill prescriptions.
Brian Benson, RPh, Pharm.D, FASHP, executive director of pharmacy at UnityPoint Health – Des Moines, said: “We are pleased to announce we are opening UnityPoint Health Pharmacy – Eyerly Ball and expanding our services to the east Des Moines community. With its convenient location and exceptional service, we hope this pharmacy will make managing medications simpler and more accessible for everyone in the community.”
The new pharmacy provides a full range of prescription and over-the-counter medications. Special ordering options are available for items not in stock. Customers can receive personalized medication counseling from pharmacists and have prescriptions transferred easily from other pharmacies. Discount cards are offered for individuals without insurance.
The location also serves patients after appointments at several nearby healthcare facilities including Iowa Lutheran Hospital, UnityPoint Health Medical Plaza, UnityPoint Clinic Family Medicine – East Des Moines, as well as behavioral health centers operated by UnityPoint Health – Eyerly Ball.
