The East Moline Fire Department approved its 2016 budget at a recent meeting.

The department also chose to keep its leadership in the same order in place of internal board elections. Jim Szymporski will remain president, Joe Swan will remain vice president, Ken Boris will remain treasurer, Joe DeBlieck will remain secretary, and Mark Loy and Ben Houtekier will remain trustees.

The board also received updates on Station 23's purchase of a table and recliner. It also received an update on the Fireman's Ball and voted down a motion to revote on the tabled ball awards. The ball itself was approved and scheduled.

Purchase requests for a hose tester, batteries and chargers, reciprocating saw, modem/router, and dinner plates were approved. A purchase request for sawhorses was denied.
