State Sen. Neil Anderson (R-Moline) endorsed the RICo GOP slate for South Rock Island Township recently.
"As lifelong residents and business owners of South Rock Island Township, this dedicated team of individuals will bring a community-minded, people-first perspective to South Rock Island Township," Anderson said.
The GOP slate, led by supervisor candidate Dr. Rodney Simmer, includes Assessor Nichole Finnie, Trustee Dr. Kim Shuda and trustee candidates Chris Elsberg, T.J. Krone and Gary Snyder. The candidates will face off against their Democratic contenders for four-year positions on the township board on April 4.

The group took to social media to thank the senator:
"South Rock Island Township Republicans have been endorsed by Illinois State Sen. Neil Anderson! Thank you for your support, Sen. Anderson! We greatly appreciate it!," the post said. “We are running as an accountable team that is committed to upholding integrity as we cooperate together to use the taxpayers money in the most effective and efficient manner to provide the residents of South Rock Island Township with services they need to help them succeed. Our conservative team values will create a stronger base and allow the next four years to have more accountability, commitment and integrity.”
The team is holding a meet and greet fundraiser at 2 p.m. Sunday at the City Limits Saloon and Grill, 4514 Ninth St., in Rock Island. The event will feature a taco bar and gift baskets. The cost is $10 for singles, $15 for couples and $20 for families.
