Legal permanent residents in the Moline area are being invited to a an informational immigration seminar hosted by Rep. Tony McCombie (R-Savanna) on Aug. 26 at World Relief to help them learn about the process of becoming a U.S. citizen, according to a press release.
The event is a collaboration with the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICRR) and funded by the New Americans Initiative (NAI), which is itself a partnership between Illinois and the ICRR. The NAI offers free assistance to legal permanent residents seeking to become citizens, including the upcoming seminar.
The event will also provide information about individualized legal citizenship consultation and eligibility screenings. Participants will also be able to schedule N-400 application appointments.
