The calls in Kewanee included 12 fires - five structure fires, one vehicle fire and six other fires.
The department also received 28 false calls.
The Kewanee Community FPD Firefighters' Pension Fund, which has three active employees and three retired or inactive employees, was $72,314 in debt as of April 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $6,026 for every fire in 2016.
