Analysis: Rock Island pays $4.98 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Rock Island Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 83.3 percent of the $3,474,354 the Rock Island Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.98 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Rock Island Today analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Rock Island contributed $2,893,929 to the fund, which saw a $196,377 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $580,424, or 16.7 percent, in 2016. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
