City of Colona Public Works Committee met July 9.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

CALL TO ORDER: 5:00 p.m.

ROLL CALL:

Aldermen Swemline, Jones, Feliksiak were present

PUBLIC COMMENTS:

> Jim Dooley would like to see a couple more speed limit signs and new handicapped parking. He would also like to see a couple of cameras in the pool and the laundry areas. > There was a list of suggestions for park improvements presented to the committee. A copy of this list will be included in the council packets for the July 22, 2019 meeting.

PUBLIC WORKS REPORT:

1. Chris Lenth talked to engineering about the front steps. The committee recommends fixing the front steps only. 2. The committee discussed Ballagheer's farm regarding the pump status, 3. Public Works has been cleaning up after the storm last week. 4. The City is still three seasonal employees short.

5. The committee discussed of if we want to replace the Clubhouse deck at Colona Family Park. This topic brings up a lot of questions, 6. Raccoons are causing damage at the cabins. The committee discussed replacing the cabin roofs with metal roofing to prevent access to the raccoons.

The total cost for all cabins is $6k. 7. The committee discussed what guidelines to set for decks and porches at the park. It wants input from the full council. Things are completely out of hand.
