Rock Island County Zoning Board of Appeals met July 1.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The meeting via video teleconference was called to order at 9:00 A.M.

A motion was made to approve the June 3, 2020 minutes. The motion was made by Mr. Coyne, and seconded by Mr. Boyd. A voice vote was taken, motion carried.

CASE: SU-20-207 SPECIAL USE PERMIT JAMES D. PARKS The Rock Island County Zoning Board of Appeals held a hearing via video/ teleconference at the request JAMES D. PARKS (petitioner), to consider a Special Use Permit for a Rural Residential Building Lot, in an AG-1, Agricultural Preservation District, as authorized in Section 3-2-10.3.R of the Rock Island County Code of Ordinances. There were no objectors. A motion to approve was made by Mr. VanDaele and seconded by Mr. Coyne. The vote was as follows: Chairman Fuhr – Yes; Mr. Boyd – Yes; Mr. Brown – Yes; Mr. Van Daele – Yes; & Mr. Coyne – Yes, Motion carried.

CASE: SU-20-208 SPECIAL USE PERMIT JEREMEY & MELLISSA EARNEST The Rock Island County Zoning Board of Appeals held a public hearing via video/ teleconference at the request of JEREMEY & MELLISSA EARNEST (petitioners), to consider a special use permit for a Major Home Occupation, a woodworking/cabinet shop, in R- 1 Single Family Residential District as authorized in Section 3-2-14.3.B of the Rock Island County Code of Ordinances. There were no objectors. A motion was made to approve the request by Mr. Brown and seconded by Mr. Boyd. The vote to approve the request was as follows: Chairman Fuhr – Yes; Mr. Boyd – Yes; Mr. Brown – Yes; Mr. Van Daele – Yes; & Mr. Coyne – Yes, Motion carried.

CASE: RZ-20-103 REZONING ERIC WYNN The Rock Island County Zoning Board of Appeals held a public hearing via video/ teleconference at the request of ERIC WYNN (petitioner) on behalf of owner(s) CAKE GROUP, L.LC. (Eric Wynn, 1310 11th Ave E. Andalusia, IL 61232, and Chase Schwigen, 1320 11th Ave E. Andalusia, IL 61232, managers) to consider a rezoning from AG-2, General Agricultural District to SE-2, Suburban Estates Medium Density District. There were two written letters submitted for comment. A motion was made to approve the request by Mr. Boyd and seconded by Mr. Coyne. The vote to approve the request was as follows: Chairman Fuhr – Yes; Mr. Boyd – Yes; Mr. Brown – Yes; Mr. Van Daele – Yes; & Mr. Coyne – Yes, Motion carried.
