Bishop Hill Heritage Association recently issued the following announcement.
Starting in April 2021, the Bishop Hill Heritage Association will once again be offering guided tours of historic Bishop Hill. Led by expert guides, learn about the Bishop Hill Colony, which was started in 1846 by Swedish immigrants. 18 pre-Civil War buildings are still in use today in Bishop Hill as museums, businesses, and more. The BHHA offers walking tour or a step-on tour of this National Historic Landmark village.
2021 is the 175th anniversary of the Bishop Hill Colony. To celebrate this anniversary and due to the generosity of the Geneseo Foundation and the Bill and Susan Sherrard Foundation, there will no student or adult tour fees charged for school tours only. Reservations are required to receive this deal.
Below are a tour description and a tour confirmation form that provides more details. If you have any questions or would like to book a tour, please call 309 927-3899 or email bhha@mymctc.net. Tours will be provided coronavirus permitting of course.
