Bishop Hill Heritage Association recently issued the following announcement.
BHHA Board Member Bill Owens has published a booklet titled The Scorecard: A Glimpse into Vintage Baseball Through a Bishop Hill Lens. In 2013, a baseball scorecard from an 1873 professional baseball game was donated by a Jacobson descendent to the Heritage.
On this scorecard were Hall of Famers Al Spaulding, Harry Wright, and Jim O’ Rourke. Bill painstakingly researched the scorecard to produce this wonderful book about early professional baseball and Bishop Hill. The Scorecard is on sale at the Colony Store.
