State Senator Neil Anderson has been recognized by the Illinois Farm Bureau as a Friend of Agriculture. The award was presented to him by Rock Island and Mercer County Farm Bureau members in Mercer County. This recognition is for his support of Illinois farmers, particularly those in the 47th Senate District.

Senator Anderson emphasized the importance of agriculture to the state's economy, stating, "Our farmers play an important role in job creation, Illinois’ economy, and in feeding our world." He highlighted the need to support producers without imposing additional restrictions from Springfield.

The award acknowledges legislators in the 103rd General Assembly who have shown strong support for farming and agriculture. It honors those who understand the impact of Illinois' agricultural products and the crucial role farmers play in providing food, fiber, and fuel locally and globally.

Chad Bell, President of Mercer County Farm Bureau, praised Senator Anderson's commitment to local farmers. "Senator Anderson is a strong supporter of Western Illinois farmers," he said. Bell noted that Anderson frequently seeks input from producers during his district travels and stands against policies that could hinder their work.

In response to concerns about crop damage from wildlife, Senator Anderson launched a Wildlife Nuisance Survey over the summer after touring the 47th District. This initiative reflects his dedication to addressing farmer issues by collecting feedback and considering future solutions.
