The Silvis City Council met Dec. 13 to discuss policy language.
Here is the meeting's agenda, as provided by the council:

Location: City Hall 121 11th Street
Chairman Malmstrom called the meeting to order at 5:30 and noted a quorum was present. There is one agenda item for consideration.
State Statute requires specific language regarding "travel, meal and lodging expenses' per section PA 99-0604. Chairman Malmstrom explained that the primary change was addition of definition of 'entertainment, public business, and travel' as required by the Local government travel expense control act. section 2-153 "Expenses allowances" would be modified' section 5 ' When using a private vehicle, current IRS mileage rates shall apply'. The new ordinance number would be 2017-01. Committee was in agreement with the additional language and the modified ordinance would be placed on the December 20th COW agenda for consideration.
There were no other agenda items and the meeting was adjourned at 5:40 pm.
