Clerk Nelson provided an update on the status of the city website. He explained that there was a recent hack that resulted in problems for users of the phone ap. In order to prevent this kind of activity the website needs to be redesigned. Clerk Nelson provided an estimate for services and noted the bill can be split between two years. He said Nehlsen Communications has agreed to break it out in three payments of $3,500 payable when contract is signed, when work is done and final payment on March 2018. Total cost for the website redesign would be $10,050. One of the payments can be funded by the water sewer fund. Clerk Nelson has about $8,000 available in his current budget. This would be done within 30 days. Alderman Trulson asked if this would prevent future hacks. Clerk Nelson said it would be more difficult to break into the website. Clerk Nelson said he could bring the design to Council for review when it's ready.
Committee was in agreement to move forward with the request and the item would be placed on the October 17" COW agenda.
There were no other agenda items and the meeting was adjourned at 5:25 pm.
