This weekend marked the Galesburg FFA Annual Banquet, a significant event for the community as it continues to rebuild its FFA chapter. In only their second year after a long hiatus, members participated in various FFA events aimed at developing leadership skills. The 2025-2026 officer team was welcomed, while the outgoing 2024-2025 team was commended for their efforts. Appreciation was extended to the Galesburg FFA Alumni members for their commitment to reviving the chapter. Sidney Stiers, a current State FFA officer, was present at the event.

In observance of Decoration Day (Memorial Day), Oxford American Legion Post #1197 placed flags on gravesites across four local cemeteries to honor fallen soldiers. Among those remembered were six graves at Summit Level Cemetery, with five from the Civil War Grand Army of the Republic and one from World War I.

Additionally, a visit was made to Black Hawk – East Campus for the Equine Arena's 50th Anniversary Open House. Three students from Arkansas, Pennsylvania, and McHenry, Illinois led tours and shared positive reflections on their education at BHE. These students recently graduated and are eager to begin new jobs in their respective hometowns.
