Area residents can focus sediment on Valentine’s Day when the cities of Moline and Rock Island and Rock Island County offer an urban erosion and sediment control workshop.
The educational event scheduled for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb 14 at Jumer’s Casino and Hotel, 777 Jumer Drive in Rock Island, the city of Moline said in a news release. The fee for the workshop is $20 and includes lunch and refreshments.
The workshop will explore permit information, present case studies relevant to Environmental Protection Agency compliance and offer proactive approaches and solutions for construction-related issues.
Attendees will learn about the effects of erosion and the science of sediment control and have an opportunity meet various vendors.
